If you live alone or fly/drive with your partner there’s an interesting App called SNUG for the iPhone. I’ve used it. Seems to work

I know they’re in the Apple App store, linked above and Snug is available for Androids in the Google Play app store.
What Snug does is alert people of your choosing if you fail to check in at a prescribed time each day. It reminds you to check in an hour before check in time. You just open the app and tap the “Check-in” button.
They can then call you and if neccesay, feed and water your animals. Take them out, etc.
Worth checking out.
They may make the Apple watch app I fantasize about below unnecessary. The above are here now and free or cheap for extra features you may not need.
